After doing this I got 1/4. Can someone plz show and explain what I did wrong? 7- 3r = r - 4(2 + r)

First distribute on the right
7-3r=r-8-4r

Combine like terms
7-3r=-4-3r

Add 3r to both sides
7=-8

The resulting statement is false so there is no real number solution.

Final answer: No solution
