This exercise stands for indirect object pronouns. An Indirect Object Pronoun is a person that receives the action of a verb indirectly. Its purpose is to tell you to whom or for whom something is done. We can see the different forms of indirect objects in Spanish in the First Table below.

- Before a conjugated verb.

So the preterite tense is one of two simple past tenses. It is used to describe actions that took place or were completed at a certain point in the past.

Adjectives such as este, ese and aquel demonstrate a quality about the noun they modify. Here that quality is the location in respect to the speaker or the listener.

Other important things we can say about demonstrative adjectives are the uses and forms. Este is used to point out something near to the speaker in space or time. Ese indicates something more distant, that is, nouns that are further from the speaker but they can be close to the listener. Aquel indicates something that is far away from both the speaker and the listener. Finally, n the Second Table below are shown four forms demonstrative adjectives can take in Spanish.
