I am pretty sure that these are the reasons why the new France attracted ONLY a few colonist :

1. Not many push factors from France


2. people scared of disease (such smallpox, typhus, cholera, and dysentery that couldn't be handled by their current medical knowledge)


3. Indian raids (due to the anger that they felt because the Europeans stole their lands)


4. bad climate (which make the new France a bad soil for agriculture business)
