ok so each brings 3 cans of fruit and 5 cans of soup so 8 cans each
3 + 5 = 8
then 39 members times how many cans each
39 x 8 = 312
so there should be 312 cans in total

There will be 585 cans in all. I know this because when you multiply 5x3 it gives you 15. Then you multiply 15x39 and that will give you 585 which is your answer. Hope this helps:)
