The goal of the wealthy planters in the south was to assist farmers realize their dream of having a place where colored people could have a chance to make a civilized living without having someone always taking away their crops and wages and looking over their shoulder.

Answer: the goal was to have more land for cultivation and more slaves.

Explanation: The objective of the rich planters of the South was to own more land to extend their crops and therefore more slaves since these two aspects meant they had more production and of course greater economic income, to remain in the status of Planter which only It was given to those farmers who owned many slaves and huge land for the cultivation of cotton (which was the main product in the South) as well as other types of plantations.
