They are legislative, executive, and judicial. very easy to remember.

For the US government:
Executive Branch: The head of the government. They do not pass laws or interpret them, however, they enforce them.
Legislative Branch: This branch passes the laws made.
Judicial Branch: This branch interprets laws and judges people by them.
