perimeter = 2 times the length plus 2 times the width

which can also be written as 2(4/3w+w) so the answer is D


part 2

28 = 2(4/3w+w) when you do the calculation w = 6

length = 4/3 *6 = 8

area = 6 * 8 =48 square inches
