Paul's family drove 377 mi to the beach averaging 58 ​ mi/h ​ on the way there. On the return trip home, they averaged 65 ​ mi/h ​ .

What was the total time Paul's family spent driving to and from the beach?

To get the answer you would do 377÷58 which would give you 6.5, that means that going to the beach is 6 hours and 30 minutes. For going home from the beach you would do 377÷65 which would give you 5.8 which means 5 hours and 48 minutes. Every 0.1 is 6 minutes while every 1.0 is an hour. To get to your final answer, you would add together 6 hours & 30 minutes with 5 hours & 48 minutes which would give you 12 hours and 18 minutes since there is 60 minutes in an hour, 48+30=78
