A worker on the production line is paid a base salary of $190 per week plus $1.19 for each unit produced. Write an equation to represent his earnings of $444.66 for a week when he produced x units. How many units did he produce? Use pencil and paper. If the worker had produced twice that number of units, what would his earnings have been? Show your work.

190 + 1.19x = 444.66
1.19x = 444.66 - 190
1.19x = 254.66
x = 254.66 / 1.19
x = 214 <== he produced 214 units

if he produced twice that number.....2 * 214 = 428
190 + 1.19(428) =
190 + 509.32 =
699.32 <=== earnings for producing twice that amount
