The Neolithic Revolution marked the period when hunters, gatherers and herdsmen became farmers and producers. This new found ability to produce their own food freed people from being nomadic. One key ingredient of agriculture and the birth of civilizations is the need for water. Therefore the common geographic feature of the neolithic revolution is rivers. Rivers such as the Tigris and Euphrates.
