What causes the increased size of an activated cervical lymph node during infection?

When a cervical lymph node is infected, the node become activated and this set lymphocyte division in motion. The division of lymphocytes is an immune response to the presence of the infective agent. THE DIVISION OF THE LYMPHOCYTES leads to the increase in size of the activated lymph node.
