Displacement is the distance and direction between the start point and end point, regardless of the route taken along the way.
Any time the motion starts and ends at the same place, the displacement is zero.
If you take a vacation, tour Europe, China, and Australia with your family, then return home with all your souvenirs, your displacement for the whole trip is zero.
