The Magna Carta was presented to King John in 1215 because people were tired of his tyrannical rule, wanted him to declare war on France, wanted to praise him for his good deeds, were afraid he was too weak as a ruler.

Hope this helped.

Magna Carta was presented by barons of the 13th century as an act of rebellion against King John I.

The king was very unpopular because increased taxes, he was excommunicated by the Pope and did not regain his empire in Northern France. Barons did not have a successor in mind so they proposed to limit the king’s power instead. This way he was obliged to renounce a number of powers.
