Both distance and displacement give you the length between two points, however, they are not the same:

Distance:
1- It is a scalar quantity, meaning that it has only a magnitude and no direction
2- It indicates the actual length of the path between the two points, or the length moved whether it is the shorthest length or not.
3- It is not a unique path, as each one can follow his own path to get from point to another.
4- It is calculated using the rule: speed*time

Displacement:
1- It is a vector quantity, meaning that it has both a magnitude and a direction.
2- It indicated the length of the shortest path between two points.
3- It is a unique path
4- It is calculated using the rule: velocity*time
