The given chemical equation is,


2Na+Cl\rightarrow 2NaCl

But the net balanced chemical equation is,


2Na+Cl_2\rightarrow 2NaCl

Law of conservation of matter : In a chemical reaction, the mass of products must be equal to the mass of reactants.

  • For Net balanced chemical equation:

The mass of reactant side, 2Na +
Cl_2 = 2(23) + 2(35.5) = 117

The mass of product side, 2NaCl = 2(23 + 35.5) = 117
