Define and discuss the concept of “ the melting pot”. Is this analogy still useful to describe the United States? Why or why not?

The concept of “the melting pot” is a useful analogy to use now almost more than ever. The term, “the melting pot,” refers to the mix of individuals of different race, religion, colour, creed, and sexual orientation all in one area or grouping. Commonly used when referring to locations such as towns or countries. Every passing day there are more and more diversity entering the US through the form of immigration and this adds to the concept of "the melting pot."
