So, first, we know that the whole angle must equal 90 because there's a right angle symbol, and right angles equal 90 degrees.

So, 43 + x + 3 must equal 90.

Or, 46 + x = 90

Then subtract 46 from both sides.

x = 90 - 46

x = 44

These would also be adjacent angles because they share the same vertex.
