10-4=6
4=40%

We can set this up as:

(4)/(10) = (x)/(100) \ To\ help\ us\ find\ the\ percentage.\\ Cross\ multiply\ to\ give\ you\ 400 = 10x\\ Divide.\ 400/10 = x\\ X = 40.\\
So, 40% was eaten
