every 2 1/4 hour, 2 13/16 gallons#every 1 hour, x gallons
x=(1 × 2 13/16)/(2 1/4)=(45/16)/(9/4)=(45×4)/(16×9)=180/144=90/72=10/8=5/4= 1 1/4 Gallons

Answer:

1(1)/(4)gallon/hour

Explanation:

After
2(1)/(4) hour a chainsaw has used
2(13)/(16) gallons of fuel.

2(1)/(4) hours =
(9)/(4) hours

2(13)/(16) gallons =
(45)/(16) = 2.8125 gallons

The chainsaw used fuel after
(9)/(4) hours =
(45)/(16) gallons

The chainsaw used fuel in 1 hour =
((45)/(16))/((9)/(4))

=
(45)/(16) ÷
(9)/(4)

=
(45)/(16) ×
(4)/(9)

=
(180)/(144)

=
(90)/(72)

=
(30)/(24)

=
(15)/(12)

=
(5)/(4)

=
1(1)/(4) gallons of fuel

Chainsaw used
1(1)/(4) gallons of fuel in each hour
