Well, first of all, to distort means to change the shape or nature of something. So to distort the truth means to change the truth. What changes the truth is a LIE. A lie is what is not true. It is different from the truth. Hope that helped. Have a nice day

Propaganda distorts the truth because propaganda is false information so basically lies that mislead people even to this day, it can be online or in person or in the news, lies are the opposite of truth and create chaos, propaganda is almost like Wikipedia, false information that is never true.
