Find the greatest common factor of 8a^3b^2 and 12ab^4.

Starting with the GCF of 8 and 12, we can find that 4 is the GCF using some guess and check. For a^3 and a, we simply find the smallest power (1 in this case) and go from there since we add exponents when multiplying, so a is there. For b^2 and b^4, we can similarly find b^2, ending with 4ab^2
