We'll calculate the miles per gallon using the following formula and the data on the table:

\text{mpg}=\frac{miles\text{ traveled}}{\text{gallons used}}

From the first set of data:

\text{mpg}_1=(144)/(4)=36

From the second:

\text{mpg}_2=\text{ }(216)/(6)=36

From the third

\text{mpg}_3=(324)/(9)=36

and from the fourth

\text{mpg}_4=(432)/(12)=36

Since all the data on the table showed us that the car gets 36 miles per gallon, we can conclude that it indeed gets 36 miles per gallon.
