During the Peasants' War in 1524, were the reformers really interested in bringing about massive social changes to accompany their religious innovations?

I do not know the exact answer, all I know is that the Peasants' War was primarily a revolt by peasants against local lords but was strongly opposed by Luther who saw it as a social revolution from below against God's divine order.
