Why can it be said that nearly every movie, regardless of genre or type, employs at least a semblance of narrative?

A movie tells a story. Any movie can tell a narrative, whether that is an easily grasped narrative or not. Movies are not meant to just show you people acting and not interacting with each other or showing emotions. Because of the emotion and interaction between characters, it shows a narrative.
