Dana's mother would be considered a model. This is a form of social learning in which one person models the behavior and another person (or group) watches the task and models the behavior at a later time as a way of proving mastery of the task. In addition, we tend to imitate behaviors that we see go unpunished or rewarded, as was shown by the Bobo task created by Dr. Albert Bandura, the father of observational learning theory.
