Over the last 50 years, the average temperature has increas ed by 2.5 degrees worldwide (I made this up). What is the rate of change in worldwide temperatures per year?

In this question, you are given the temperate change (increase 2.5 degrees) and the duration (50 years). You are asked the rate of change which has a unit of temperature/year. Then to find it, the calculation would be:

rate of change= temperature change / duration
rate of change= 2.5 degrees / 50 years = 0.05 degrees / year
