-2.6+(−2.9)+(−7.1, first we will open out the brackets and multiply the signs. Before that, we must take note of the following sign operations

-×- = +

-×+ = -

+×- = -

+×+ = +

The equation above becomes;

-2.6-2.9-7.1 (all the signs are now minus since the product of plus and minus sign gives a minus sign)

(-2.6-2.9)-7.1

= -5.5-7.1

= -12.6
