Answer: They can plant 250 flowers.

Explanation:

Given : The dimension of the rectangular garden = 25-cm-by-10 cm

[i.e. length by width]

Area of rectangle = length x width

⇒ Area of rectangular garden = 25 x 10 = 250 square centimeter .

Area required by each flower = 1 square centimeter

Then, the number of flowers they can plant =
\frac{\text{Area of garden}}{\text{Area of needed by each flower}}

=(250)/(1)=250

Hence, they can plant 250 flowers.
