If the following fraction is reduced, what will be the exponent on the q? -5p^5q^4/ 8p^2q^2

Alright, so for dividing exponents, we simply subtract the denominator from the numerator. In this case, we have -5/8 on the side for the numbers, subtract 2 from 5 to get p³ and 2 from 4 to get q² as our final q result
