This type of evidence is called Circumstantial evidence. It relies on a leap of logic in order to say someone is guilty.An example of it would be seeing the defendant in the area where the murder was committed in a black hoodie with eyewitness testimony that the murderer was wearing a black hoodie. It is not allowed as permissible evidence in a court of law.
