Which theory posits that dreams are complex cognitive achievements that develop as our visual imagination and other advanced cognitive abilities develop?

This is the neurocognitive theory. This perspective holds that the dreams we have will be simpler as we are young and will gradually become more complex as we age. As our brains take on the neurons and structures that allow them to do so, our dreams become more "adult-like."
