3x+12-4=2x+8+x
3x+8=3x+8
3x-3x=8-8
hence,
0=0

okay first distribute
3x +12 -4 = 2x +8 + x
combine like terms
3x + 8 = 3x +8
to get the x on one side you must subtract 3x
no solution is the answer
