The equation is
8p=23.2
Where p is the price per gallon

To find the price per gallon, you just divide both sides by 8
P=23.2÷8
P=2.9 per gallon

Hope it helps!

Answer:

The price of 1 gallon of gasoline is $2.90.

Explanation:

You buy 8 gallons of gasoline at p dollars per gallon and pay $23.20.

We get the expression:

8p=23.20

We can find one gallon as: p=
(23.20)/(8)

=> p = $2.90

Hence, the price of 1 gallon of gasoline is $2.90.
