who is closer to ground level...
-20 7/9 = - 20.77 (with a line over the 7 because it is repeating)
-20 39/50 = -20.78

so, closer to ground level is the black garden ant at -20 7/9 ft because this is closer to 0 then -20 39/50 ft.
