So, the notes that are just outlines with a line on top, are two beats, or half notes. The notes that look like that but with a dot are 3 beats. And the one with no line and just a circle is four.
So if you add the beats up, then you'll get a certain number.
See, the one that's valued four beats plus the one valued three beats would be 7.
