(-8x⁴ + x³ + 2x² + 2) + (-x⁴ + 5x³ - x² + 5x)
= -8x⁴ + x³ + 2x² + 2 + -x⁴ + 5x³ - x² + 5x
= -9x⁴ + 6x³ + x² + 5x + 2
