Vitamins are divided into two classes:

1) Water Soluble Vitamins:
These vitamins are not stored inside the body and are absorbed as they pass through the bloodstream. The ones which are not absorbed are removed from the body. These are 9 in number.

2) Fat Soluble Vitamins:
These vitamins are stored in the fatty tissues of the body. These vitamins are 4 in number and include vitamin A, D, E and K

Therefore, the answer to this question is option C. There are 2 classes of vitamins. These 2 classes have further examples which are termed as essential vitamins.
