Since vertical angles are congruent, in order to find the value of x we must equal the two values to each other.

3x+50=6x-10
add 10 to both sides.
3x+60=6x
subtract 3 from both sides
60=3x
divide both sides by 3
x=20

these are vertical angles and they are equal

3x + 50 = 6x - 10
50 + 10 = 6x - 3x
60 = 3x
60/3 = x
20 = x <==
