Given the function:

p(r) = 3 - r

Let's graph the function using 6 points.

Input the different values for r and solve for p(r).

• When r = -2:

p(-2) = 3 - (-2)

p(-2) = 3 + 2

p(-2) = 5

Ordered pair: (r, p) ==> (-2, 5)

• When r = -1:

p(-1) = 3 - (-1)

p(-1) = 3 + 1

p(-1) = 4

Orderd pair: (-1, 4)

• When r = 0:

p(0) = 3 - 0

p(0) = 3

Ordered pair: (0, 3)

• When r = 1:

p(1) = 3 - 1

p(1) = 2

Ordered pair: (1, 2)

• When r = 2:

p(2) = 3 - 2

p(2) = 1

Ordered pair: (2, 1)

To graph the function, plot the given ordered pairs on the graph and connect using a straight edge.

Therefore, we have table:

r p(r) Ordered pair

-2 5 (-2, 5)

-1 4 (-1, 4)

0 3 (0, 3)

1 2 (1, 2)

2 1 (2, 1)
