The Zhou established their own dynasty because B) The rebelled against the harsh rule of the Shang. They established their own rule through what is known as The Rebellion of the Three Guards. It was a civil war that occurred because the Zhou princes believed that the Shang Dynasty was evil and that heaven no longer wanted them to rule the people.
