Answer:

y= -2x-2

Explanation:

point slope- y=mx+b

y-y1=m(x-x1)

you have the point (-1,0) and you have to use (x1, y1)

your slope is -2

Substitute

y-0= -2(x +1)

Distribute

y-0=-2x-2

+0 +0

y= -2x-2

well, if the x-intercept is at x = -1, what's y? well, is an x-intercept, y = 0, so the point is -1, 0.

\bf \begin{array}{lllll} &x_1&y_1\\ % (a,b) &({{ -1}}\quad ,&{{ 0}}) \end{array} \\\\\\ % slope = m slope = {{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies -2 \\\\\\ % point-slope intercept \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y-{{ y_1}}={{ m}}(x-{{ x_1}})}\implies y-0=-2[x-(-1)]\implies y=-2(x+1)
