start by factoring the 2(5.5) which equals 10.5 combine it with the 4 making it 6.5 -3x =9 subtract the 6.5 from the 9 making it 3.5 divide the -3x by -3 to separate the x. so it'll look like x= 3.5 but you're not done yet.divide 3.5 by -3 which gives you x= -1.16666666667
