Hello!

A force of 8,480 N is applied to a cart to decelerate it at a rate of 32.0 m/s2. What is the mass of the cart ?

Data:

F (force) = 8480 N

m (mass) = ?

a (acceleration) = 32.0 m/s²

Solving:

F = m*a

8480 = m*32.0

32.0\:m = 8480

m = (8480)/(32.0)

\boxed{\boxed{m = 265\:kg}}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

Answer:

265 kg

Net force(f) = mass(m) × acceleration(a)
where f = 8480 N, a = 32 m/s²
m = f/a = 8480/32 = 265 kg thats your answer
