The conquistadores counted on many advantages over Native Americans. For instance, their weapon technology of guns and cannons were far superior to the natives' arrows and spears. Besides, the Spanish had metal armor and horses.

Furthermore, the Spanish conquistadors were able to conquer Native American empires by spreading diseases to the Native Americans (who lacked immunity) which played a major role in helping the conquistadors take control of the region.

The Spanish conquistadors had more modernized weapons at the time. They also were trained in warfare and supported by their county. Also the Spanish population at the time was greater than the Native American tribes.
