Let n be the odd number:
Remember an odd number could be expressed by (2n-1) or (2n+1)

a) (2n-1)+(2n+1)+(2n+3)+(2n+5)+(2n+7)+(2n+9)+(2n+11) = 357

14n + 35 = 357 → 14n = 357-35 →14n = 322 and n = 322/14 = 23
Then the 1st number is (2n-1)= (46-1) = 45
45 + 47 + 49 + 51+ 53 + 55 + 57 = 357

b) Second method (the simplest)
Find the middle number of this odd series

357/7 = 51 (the middle number)

There are 3 consecutive odds before 51 and 3 consecutive odds after 51
45,47,49, fifty one, 53,55,57 = 357

FIRST SOLUTION!
first number = x
second number = x+2
third number = x+4
fourth number=x+6
fifth number=x+8
sixth number=x+10
seventh number=x+12

add all of those up and combine like terms to get 7x+42=357. Now subtract 42 from both sides to get 7x=315. Next, divide both sides by 7 to get x=45. To get the numbers, plug in 45 for x.

Your numbers should be 45,47,49,51,53,55, and 57.
