The square root of 64 is 8, or -8

This is because 8 times 8 is 64

And -8 times -8 is 64 (because a negative times a negative is a positive)

The square root of 64 has both a negative and positive value because as we know it's 8 and -8. To square, you simply multiply the number by its self twice, since a negative number time a negative number is a positive number and a positive number times a positive number is also positive so -8x-8=64 and 8x8=64.

Hope this helped!
