From the statement "the quotient of the sum and product of three numbers" we have to formulate an algebraic expression, the first operation we are told about is a "quotient", a quotient is a division, we can represent the quotient of two numbers a and b, like this:

(a)/(b)

The next operation we are told about is a "sum" between three numbers, by calling x, y and z to the three numbers, we can formulate their sum like this:

x + y + z

By replacing the sum of the three numbers for a into the quotient we get:

(x+y+z)/(b)

The last operation is a "product", that is multiplication and it is performed between the same three numbers x, y and z, we can formulate the product of these numbers to get:

x×y×z

By replacing x×y×z for b into the quotient, we get:

(x+y+z)/(x* y* z)

Then, we can express the the quotient of the sum and product of three numbers x, y z like this:

(x+y+z)/(xyz)
