There are two simple tests for diabetes screening:

  • Fasting plasma glucose test
  • Oral glucose tolerance test

Step-by-step explanation

Fasting plasma glucose: This test involves to check the level of glucose in the blood after fasting .In this test if glucose level exceeds than 125mg/dL, the other test or retest will be applied to confirm a diabetes.

Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT): In this test, the patiest have to drink the sugary solution 2 hours before to check the concnetrtion. But in this, If concnetration exceeds from 200 mg/dL, the repeat test will be applied to confirm the level of glucose.
