Rob Retiree gets a Social Security benefit of $800 per month. His wife receives a benefit equal to 50 percent of Rob's benefit. If they take an additional $300 per month from savings, what will their monthly income be?

If Bob gets $800, his wife gets half of it (50%) namely $400, so, together they get 1200 from SS.
Add to it $300 that comes from savings and you get a total of 1200 + 300 = $1500

Hope I helped :)
