What is the value of x in the equation 3x – 1/9y = 18, when y = 27?

The answer is x=7, because if you use PEMDAS you will come up with x=7.

3x – 1/9y = 18
3x – 1/9(27)= 18
3x - 3 = 18
3x = 21
x = 7
